6.2.10 Pipeline Permitting

LPDD Recommendation: “State legislatures should designate a lead agency with responsibility for coordinating the various permitting pro­cesses for renewable gas-gathering pipelines.”

LPDD Recommendation: “In the absence of legislative action, state PUCs should enter into an agreement with state environment and energy agencies to clarify their respective roles in permitting renewable gas-gathering pipelines and provide for greater cooperation in any reviews, to the extent allowed by law.”

California Renewable Gas Interconnection Incentive

California established a $40 million monetary incentive program under which certain renewable gas producers can recover a portion of their interconnection costs from gas utilities.
