Colorado requires producers to inspect facilities for leaks (using audio, visual, or olfactory methods) every month, and undertake more comprehensive leak survey (using equipment to detect gas in the air) at least annually. Leaks detected by producers must generally be repaired within five working days, unless any required part in unavailable, in which case repairs must be made within 15 days of receipt of the part. Repairs may be delayed until the next scheduled shutdown if necessary, or for good cause.
