In November 2020, Columbus, Ohio voted on the ballot measure Issue 1, which would start a citywide community choice aggregation program, giving officials the right to purchase energy in bulk from local renewable sources. This would allow Columbus to meet its goal of powering all homes and businesses with renewable energy by 2022.
Following the election, the measure appeared to pass.
