Risky Business’ 2016 report considers a large-scale shift away from ongoing spending on fossil fuels and toward up-front capital investments in clean energy technologies, consistent with reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80 percent by 2050 in the U.S. and across all major economies. The report develops an energy, economic and infrastructure planning model that compares energy scenarios through 2050. Its analysis identifies capital investment needs, regional and sectoral impacts, and areas where public policy must play a critical role.
