Maine’s P.L. 2019 c. 478 and Chapter 312 of the PUC rules require the PUC to undertake a series of procurements of DG projects to meet statutory targets for distributed renewable projects. Customers may “subscribe” to these projects and receive electricity bill credits for the value of the output of the generation. Under the program, the PUC must procure 250 MW of Shared DG projects and 125 MW of Commercial and Institutional DG projects through a series of competitive solicitations.
