For all new construction and renovation projects that receive general obligation bond funding from the state of Minnesota, the SB 2030 Energy Standard ratchets down the permissible energy use over time, from 60% reductions over average new construction in 2010 and 30% reductions for renovation, until by 2030 net zero energy is reached for new construction and 50% reduction is reached for renovations.
