This 2020 New Jersey bill requires a developer to offer to install an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at certain new residential construction when a prospective owner chooses so. They shall inform the prospective owner on the potential energy cost savings associated with EV usage. They shall also inform the prospective owner on any applicable credits, rebates, or other incentives that may be available to them for the installation of an EV charging station. The Commissioner of Community Affairs, in consultation with the Department of Environmental Protection and the Board of Public Utilities, shall create a website for prospective owners and developers with all of the above information.
