Healdsburg CA’s electrification reach code for new construction requires electrification for most appliances, but grants an exemption from electrification for gas cooking and fireplaces.

Santa Rosa All-Electric Reach Code

In November 2019, the City of Santa Rosa CA passed a reach code that would require all new residential construction of 3-stories and below to be all electric.

Windsor’s all-electric reach code

Mandates all-electric new construction for all new low-rise residential buildings. This includes single-family homes, multi-family below four stories, and detached accessory dwelling units.

San Jose’s reach code and gas ban in new homes

Santa Monica Energy Code

Requires all new buildings use 10%-15% less energy than allowed by the 2016 California Energy Code, and achieve an energy design rating of zero.

Sebastopol’s Solar Energy Requirements

Requires new commercial or residential buildings, and specific alterations, to incorporate solar energy of either 2 watts per square foot, or offsetting 75% of the annual energy use of the building.
