The proposed Climate Risk Disclosure Act of 2019 would require disclosure to the SEC the total amount of a company’s fossil fuel-related assets, how the valuation of those assets will be affected by climate change and an explanation of how they are managing risks to those assets. Companies would also be compelled to reveal their total greenhouse gas emissions.
