This 2023 Massachusetts bill would require that detached one- and two-family dwellings must have a solar energy system producing at least 80 percent of the estimated average annual electricity use of dwellings of a similar size. The legislation requires a state agency to promulgate similar requirements for multi-family dwellings and commercial buildings up to six stories in height, as well as other categories of new buildings as deemed appropriate.
